“SOMEPLACE” is a continuation of exploring the concept of place in relation to memory and space including the long-term effects on our shifting sense of place.
It is known that space is defined as a measurable and mathematical component in science, whereas place is referred to as a tangible, layered and memorable value of lived experiences.
Looking back at my past, I certainly can confirm, my sense of place and identity have changed indefinite and irreversible.

Archives hold a very important role in obtaining information about historical events and serve as a collective memory connecting past and present.
Even though many of us believe they are rather mundane, sentimental and of no particular value, studies show that these collections are highly significant to create a wider sense of genealogical consciousness and belonging.
NOWHERE_2021

"NOWHERE" was produced while traveling overseas at the beginning 2020. No-one saw it coming; The start of a world pandemic.
Since then travel has been turned upside down and just getting back to normal now.

It is known that people who travel, become easily attracted to a life in a foreign country.
Even though many migrants adapt to their surroundings by becoming an integral part of their new community, individuals can experience notions of alienation and cultural hybrid identity.
I am from one place, but I am dwelling elsewhere. Fragments and shards collected over time, become a part of me, even vanish or sometimes make me still vulnerable.
Lately I started filling in blank spaces.
The images are a combination of recycled photographs, made into handmade paper, collaged and printed.














INCISIONS_2020

“INCISIONS” investigates the battle of unfamiliar and familiar, estranged and distant memories and relationships.
It is a transitioning out of hibernation into a state of metamorphosis; a growth from the inside out, breaking through the surface and longing for air.
The work experiments with a variety of fabrics by creating surreal, detached and fragile landscapes.
